Google@Thought hosted Miriam Gonzalez for SheTalksTech
Google@Thought has launched SheTalksTech, a new series of inclusive and immersive talks to ask how women are affecting change in media, healthcare, education and business.
This series of talks will take a closer look at the impact of women in tech.
On Tuesday, Miriam Gonzalez (Founder and Chair of Inspiring Girls), presented at Google in Brussels the topic of ‘Breaking Stereotypes: Inspiring Girls to Aim High.’
Introduced by Lie Junius (Director EU Public Policy and Government Relations at Google Europe), Miriam discussed how young women and girls can be encouraged to reach their full potential in all fields of endeavour.
In conversation with freelance journalist Jennifer Baker, Miriam spoke about the importance of providing girls with access to role models at a young age. Jennifer then lead a Q&A with an audience of EU Policymakers and senior stakeholders, including Beatriz Becerra Basterrechea MEP - Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe.
This is an important conversation to have as empowering young women and girls to reach their full potential is ever more relevant as the European Consensus on Development commits the EU and its Member States to promote women and girls’ rights, gender equality, the empowerment of women and girls and their protection as a priority.
This was a great discussion at Google in Brussels and we hope to keep the conversation going whilst working to develop the tech for Inspiring Girls to bring wider access to more role models.
